Cupping

Cupping Therapy in Anderson, IN

Cupping therapy with Dr. Shahnaz Sabeti, LAc.

Cupping uses controlled suction to decompress tissue, increase circulation, and bring fresh blood flow to areas where it has become restricted.

It’s a centuries-old therapy with modern application — used here as part of an integrated approach to fascia release, tissue recovery, and chronic muscular tension.

What cupping may help with.

Cupping therapy may benefit patients experiencing:

  • Chronic muscular tension and tightness
  • Fascial restrictions limiting movement
  • Areas of stagnant or poor circulation
  • Recovery from soft-tissue strain
  • General tension and stress

How cupping works.

Cups create gentle suction on the skin and underlying soft tissue. This decompression stretches fascia, separates tissue layers that have become adhered, and brings fresh blood to areas where circulation has become stagnant.

The result is increased mobility in the treated tissue and supported recovery in the underlying muscle and connective tissue.

Dr. Sabeti’s approach.

As a licensed acupuncturist with 500+ hours of postgraduate training in Chinese Medicine, Dr. Sabeti uses cupping selectively — most often within the Rehab 360 program’s fascia release stage, where it works alongside TECAR and high-power laser therapy to address soft-tissue restrictions.

What to expect.

Sessions are comfortable. Patients typically describe the sensation as a deep, gentle pull rather than discomfort. Cups are placed on specific areas based on assessment and remain for several minutes.

Temporary circular marks on the skin are normal and fade within a few days — they’re the visible result of the increased circulation cupping is intended to produce.

Integrated care

How cupping fits into integrated care.

Cupping is one of three fascia release modalities in the Rehab 360 program — used selectively based on what each patient’s tissue actually needs.
